Algebra

This week in 6th grade we will be beginning our new unit on Algebra.  This week we will be learning about reciprocals and then using them to divide fractions.  We will then be reviewing how to add and subtract negative and positive numbers.  I always try to get the students to understand that when they are subtracting negative and positive numbers that they are "adding the opposite."  It can be a little hard to understand that when you are subtracting that you are just adding a negative number.
